Preparticipation Physical Examination

Ryan Keeler, a UNLV football player, died in February 2023. Condolences to his family. The coroner released the cause of death: “cardiac dysrhythmia due to hypertrophic cardiomyopathy”

What can we learn from this?

We can never be sure if a Preparticipation Physical Evaluation would have picked up the cardiomyopathy, but EVERY athlete MUST have a proper sports physical BEFORE playing.
